Grace and Sienna | Equine Photography

I met Grace and her beautiful TB mare last month when they had an equine photoshoot at their yard in Hertfordshire. It was the second time lucky, as the weather hadn’t been very kind to us when it was originally booked at the beginning of July, but the rain held off this time and we had lovely dry day to shoot.

Grace has had Sienna since the end of last winter and is currently retraining her to be an eventer. Sienna started out her life in racing. Having raced 7 times and been bought from the breeze up sales in 2010, she now resides at a yard in Hertfordshire learning how to be multi disciplined, with the hope she will be out competing BE next season.

The pair were a joy to photograph. Sienna posed and responded to Grace’s requests with ease (if eventing doesn’t work out I think modelling will be her equine career) but what was quite evident between them was their bond. With every shot, there is a closeness between them that is only really apparent when you take a step back and look at the photos. For most it would appear that this horse owner really loves her horse, showering her in affection. Of which this is very true, but the reciprocated affection and relationship Sienna has with her owner is awe inspiring. This little horse watched over her equestrian partner with such intensity and wrapped herself around her with every photograph, it was beautiful to watch.

No need for words, the pictures say it all about this relationship!

“The bond between us grows every day!”

This equestrian pair really are going to be ones to watch next season, with such beautiful personalities and a fabulous partnership I have no doubt they will make it!
